From last week's Patterns Online update, comes this nautical collection of signal flags and sailboats. The designer is Bennie Harman, who has a pretty wide selection up on PO, including some very funn "samplers," such as the "Three Wise Women..." and also more serious designs such as some still fruit still life designs and country style samplers.

There's a community blog titled Freebie Gallery for posting well, finished Freebies. Heather just posted a cushion using a free design from Whispered by the Wind. It looks great on the red she used, but I'd love to see it on a navy blue, too.

Harry Potter fan? The News & Observer has a whole article of Harry Potter-related links, including some craft ones. In particular, it turns out that The Leaky Cauldron, a Harry Potter fansite, has some needlework projects, including a collection of house crests meant for plastic canvas work but could easily be adapted to another fabric.

There's an interesting sounding
exhibit at Touchstones Rochdale in Rochdale, UK opening Monday July 16. Called the "Eye of the Needle," it explores "the cross over between fine art and contemporary craft."
